Welcome!

Welcome to vaniamargene.com! I hope you find what you’re looking for visiting my website.

When you’re an indie, you’re pulled in many directions. Do you write about your work in progress, do you write about your characters? Do you write about plot inspirations, or your work ethic? How many hours a day do you write? How did your launch go?

Lately I’ve been thinking about where I want this blog to go. I’m a romance writer, but rarely do I write about my characters or post snippets of my books. I like to to talk about publishing, how much money I’ve lost trying out Amazon Ads. I like blogging about what that last Freebooksy did for me in terms of KU reads.

I’ve been trying to blog for both readers and writers and that hasn’t worked so well. So I’m going into a rebranding of sorts. This blog and my Twitter account are going to be for the technical side of putting your book into the world: the publishing, the marketing. I like passing things on to you that have helped me. If I try something out I like to blog about the results so you know if it’s something worth trying.

I’ll tell you the podcasts I’m listening to, the non-fiction books about publishing I like. I’ll tell you about new promos I find, or if a marketing tool has been particularly helpful.

I’ve made less than 2,000 dollars in 2019, so take what I say as perspective from a newbie still trying to make her way in the publishing jungle!

I hope you’ll join me on this crazy adventure from hobbiest to full-time career author!

Stick around!

Vania Rheault was born in Fort Frances, Ontario but has lived in Minnesota all her life. She moved from International Falls, MN to Moorhead, MN to go to school and she majored in English with a concentration in creative writing. She graduated from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, in 2003. She also obtained an Associate’s of Science degree from the Minnesota State Community and Technical College, also located in Moorhead, MN, in 2015. When her career in Human Resources didn’t take off, she returned to her first love, writing. She published On the Corner of 1700 Hamilton in the summer of 2016. Since then she’s been writing whenever she can while working full-time at Minnesota Relay, CSD, as a typist for the deaf and hard of hearing.

When she isn’t online participating in social media, or writing, you can find her spending time with her children, shopping for new books, or researching the self-publishing industry while snuggling with her three cats.
